This year's festival will feature world premieres from renowned directors, including Hong Sangsoo's 'Nowhere to Lay My Eyes,' Denis Côté's 'Nobody's Violence,' and Albert Serra's 'Sixteen Moments of My Life.' Classic films such as Martin Scorsese's 'Taxi Driver' and David Lynch's 'Wild at Heart' will also be screened, alongside a 4K restored version of 'Dances With Wolves.'
Locarno 2026 will also celebrate cinematic talent with festival honors bestowed upon directors James Gray and Darren Aronofsky, actress Virginie Efira, visual effects artist Rick Baker, and actresses Asia Argento and Isabella Rossellini. The festival aims to highlight actors as 'living history of cinema,' emphasizing their lasting impact through iconic performances.
