The Netflix reboot of "Little House on the Prairie" is carefully building upon its cherished past. Alice Halsey, the new actress portraying Laura Ingalls, immersed herself in the original series after filming Season 1, deeply appreciating its legacy and Michael Landon's vision. Halsey received a significant confidence boost when Melissa Gilbert, the original Laura Ingalls, visited the set during Season 1's production. Gilbert's supportive presence made Halsey feel exceptionally welcomed into the "Little House" world.
With the series already renewed for a second season, the door is open for more original cast members to appear. A notable appearance has already occurred with Alison Arngrim, who famously played Laura's rival Nellie Oleson, making a cameo. This suggests that other familiar faces, potentially including Melissa Gilbert, could feature in future seasons, much to the delight of long-time fans.
