Netflix is bringing the Ingalls family to screens with its new "Little House on the Prairie" series adaptation. The streamer released the official trailer on Thursday, presenting the semi-autobiographical stories as a hopeful family drama and an epic survival tale of the American West.
The series stars Alice Halsey as Laura Ingalls, Skywalker Hughes as her sister Mary, and Luke Bracey and Crosby Fitzgerald as Ma and Pa Ingalls. The trailer depicts the family's challenges as they attempt to settle the frontier.
Rebecca Sonnenshine serves as showrunner for the production from CBS Studios and Anonymous Content. The first season of "Little House on the Prairie" is scheduled to debut on Netflix on July 9, with a second season already ordered.
This adaptation follows previous iterations, most notably the popular 1974-1983 NBC series.
