The beloved "Little House on the Prairie" literary world has welcomed a special guest star from another classic tale. Megan Follows, celebrated for her role as Anne Shirley in the "Anne of Green Gables" series, has made a surprise appearance in the new "Little House on the Prairie" show currently streaming on Netflix.
Follows, portraying Laura Ingalls' great-great-great-grandmother in a dream sequence, links these iconic fictional families. This new adaptation is grounded in the original books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, charting the Ingalls family's move to build a homestead near Independence, Kansas. Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine emphasized that the series will focus on positive themes like generosity and community.
The original "Little House on the Prairie" book series was published between 1932 and 1943, detailing Wilder's own childhood experiences as a settler. The recent Netflix series is not a remake of the 1970s television show but a fresh interpretation of the source material, with its first season adapting the 1935 book.
