A new 10-part mystery drama, 'The Detection Club,' is currently filming in the West Midlands. The series is inspired by the golden age of detective fiction and centers on a mysterious society formed by three of Britain's most celebrated crime writers: Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayers, and G.K. Chesterton.
Set in 1930s London, the drama follows these legendary authors as they hone their craft. After receiving an invitation, they become involved in solving real-life murder cases, often crossing paths with a young police detective, D.I. Greenway. The series aims to explore the wit, intellect, and perhaps flaws of these iconic writers.
'The Detection Club' is a production by BBC Studios Drama Productions and is set to air on BBC and BritBox. The creative team behind the show includes creator Kit Lambert and original idea by Simon Brett. The cast features Miles Jupp as G.K. Chesterton, Bryony Hannah as Agatha Christie, and Cara Theobold as Dorothy L. Sayers.
