Actress Lisa Riley recently underwent surgery to repair her Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) in her left thumb. The Emmerdale star, aged 49, sustained 'massive damage' during a fall at her home over the weekend. She explained that the accident happened when she slipped off a 'very slippy breakfast stool' at home.
Riley was treated at Leeds General Infirmary, where she posed for a post-surgery selfie with her surgeon, Dr. Thorton. She shared her appreciation for the NHS, calling the service 'incredible' and thanking the medical team who provided her care.
This incident comes after Riley emotionally discussed her late friend, Robin Windsor. She spoke about his struggles with mental health and his 'downward spiral' following his departure from Strictly Come Dancing before his tragic death in 2024 at the age of 44.
