The announcement came as a surprise, with Richie, Luke Bryan, and Carrie Underwood revealing they would all be back, along with host Ryan Seacrest.

This confirmation follows recent health issues for the 77-year-old singer. He recently underwent a common procedure for atrial fibrillation (AFib) to correct an irregular heartbeat. His representative stated the procedure went perfectly and he is recovering well. Despite this, Richie was forced to cancel three tour dates in late September and early October due to his recovery.

Richie has experienced other health-related incidents in recent months, including a dizzy spell during a June performance and a visit to the hospital in late August due to dehydration. He had previously assured fans he was recovering well after sharing an update in July.
