Matrix Director's Unexpected Detour: From Sci-Fi to Stand-Up

Following her transition in 2016 and the intense demands of filmmaking, Lily Wachowski sought a new path away from the movie industry. This period of exploration, including her brief foray into comedy, proved fruitful. Through the Chicago comedy scene, Wachowski met Abby McEnany, leading to her significant role as a writer, executive producer, and director for the Showtime series 'Work in Progress'.
