The beloved character Angel, Stitch's girlfriend and Experiment 624, has been confirmed to feature in the upcoming "Lilo & Stitch 2". This new installment will be helmed by Chris Sanders, the writer and director of the original 2002 animated classic. Sanders, who also voices Stitch, has remained deeply involved with the franchise.
The sequel, "Lilo & Stitch 2", is slated for release on May 26, 2028. This announcement was made during a D23 event, where a title treatment revealed Angel's antennae forming the Roman numeral for 'II'.
Angel, first introduced in "Stitch! The Series," has been a significant element in various "Lilo & Stitch" spin-offs and is particularly popular for merchandise, especially in international Disney parks.
Additionally, a new animated short titled "Lilo & Scratch" will precede Disney's "Hexed" this fall.
