Lilly Singh Honored for Industry Impact

Lilly Singh, the acclaimed Canadian actress and producer, is set to receive the prestigious Equity in Entertainment Award. The ceremony will take place at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Toronto.

This significant tribute celebrates Canadians who drive industry change and enhance access for individuals from underrepresented groups. Singh's entrepreneurial spirit is evident through her indie banner, Unicorn Island Productions. Her recent work includes co-writing, producing, and starring in the comedy film 'Doin' It.'

Prior to this, Singh achieved a milestone as a late-night television host with NBC's 'A Little Late.' Her influence extends to launching the south Asian creator network Hypen8. She also hosts the CTV quiz show 'Battle of the Generations' and authored the book 'How to be a Triangle.' Furthermore, she co-hosts the podcast 'Shameless with Lilly Singh.'

WIE Canada organizers praised Singh as a "modern entertainment leader" who is "multi-platform, entrepreneurial, socially engaged, and globally influential." The upcoming third annual WIE Canada summit will convene leaders from the Canadian TV, film, and music industries to celebrate women advancing the sector. Singh will join previously announced honorees Rachel Reid, Andrea Martin, Malin Akerman, and Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, alongside Stacey Aglok MacDonald.
