Summary
- Dubey cherishes sharing the stage with her daughters, Neha and Ira.
- She finds Hyderabad audiences appreciative of sophisticated artistic expression.
- Her theatre journey began after pursuing two master's degrees.

Veteran actor and theatre icon Lillete Dubey recently shared her profound connection with Hyderabad, a city she finds deeply appreciative of the arts. During her visit for the play 'Autobiography,' Dubey expressed the unique joy of collaborating creatively with her daughters, Neha and Ira, noting the inherent understanding within their artistic family.
Dubey directed 'Autobiography,' an English adaptation of Mahesh Elkunchwar's seminal Marathi play. She described it as a layered exploration of human relationships and truth, framed by a scholar writing his own life story. The play, blending humor, emotion, and memory, navigates fractured relationships and shifts fluidly across time.
Reflecting on her career, the 72-year-old revealed that theatre was a daring choice, pursued only after completing master's degrees in literature and mass communication, as her parents were in medicine and engineering. She has been involved in theatre for over 35 years, co-founding a theatre company.
