Nathan Smith, 27, the son of artist Lil Jon, died from an accidental drowning. According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner, his death occurred "in the setting of psilocybin use." The autopsy report noted signs of water immersion on Smith's hands.
Smith had been reported missing on February 3rd, having left his home on foot without his phone and possibly disoriented. His body was recovered three days later from a pond in Mayfield Park, Georgia. Police at the time stated they did not suspect foul play but conducted a full investigation.
Lil Jon expressed his profound heartbreak over the "tragic loss" of his son, describing Nathan as an exceptionally kind, caring, and warmhearted individual. The artist shared on Instagram that Smith was laid to rest on February 18th, lamenting that "Life will never be the same without you."
