Summary
- The faith-based drama 'It's Not Like That' has been canceled by Prime Video.
- Despite a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, the show will not get a second season.
- The series ranked in Prime Video's Top 10 lists both globally and in the U.S.

Prime Video has decided not to proceed with a second season of the faith-based family drama 'It's Not Like That.' This cancellation comes despite the series achieving a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and performing well in viewership metrics. The decision means the story of star-crossed lovers Malcolm and Lori will not continue.
The series, a collaboration between Prime Video and Wonder Project, was initially released globally on May 15, following an earlier debut on Wonder Project's subscription channel on January 25. Another Wonder Project series, 'House of David,' has been renewed for a third season.
Even without viewership numbers being released, 'It's Not Like That' made an appearance at No. 9 on the global Top 10 series list and consistently ranked within the U.S. Daily Top 10, currently at No. 5. This suggests a significant audience engagement.
The show, created by Parenthood alums Ian Deitchman and Kristin Robinson, centered on Malcolm, a widowed pastor with three children, and Lori, a recently divorced mother of two teenagers. The series finale left their romantic arc unresolved, with Malcolm's confession of feelings existing only in his imagination as Lori contemplated reuniting with her ex-husband.
