In a move to redefine brand-funded content, Lief Entertainment Company is set to launch at MIPCOM and BrandStorytelling on October 13th, 2025. The new venture is the brainchild of Margo Mars, who runs the Leif creative agency, and veteran film producer Raymond van der Kaaij.
Lief's mission is to evolve the ad-funded content model and use marketing budgets as cultural investments. The company aims to help brands forge genuine partnerships with their audiences by delivering authentic, world-class storytelling. Margo Mars, who brings over 20 years of industry experience to her role as CEO, says "Today's brands must forge genuine partnerships with their audiences. Consumers demand authentic commitment; whether societal, artistic, or environmental. We're here to help brands deliver on that promise."
Lief's roster for commercial representation includes acclaimed filmmakers such as Misan Harriman (Oscar-nominated short The After), Haifaa Al Mansour (Unidentified), and Bertrand Bonello (The Beast). According to producer Raymond van der Kaaij, any brand can become an "auteur brand" if it dares to act like one. Lief will work with these filmmakers and brands across development, financing, and distribution to bring their vision to life.
