9 Jun
Summary
- Sandwich shop offered Liam Neeson free food via a sign.
- Neeson showed up in person and humorously demanded his sandwich.
- A special sandwich named 'The Neeson' was later created.

In May 2017, a sandwich shop in New Westminster, part of the Greater Vancouver area, placed a sign outside reading, "Liam Neeson eats here for free." This was a playful gesture inspired by the actor being in town for filming. To the staff's complete surprise, Neeson himself walked into the shop.
He reportedly played along, using an intimidating voice to ask, "Where is my free sandwich?" The shop captured the unexpected visit with photos, expressing their shock online. The director of operations admitted they never anticipated him actually showing up, suspecting he heard about the sign through his production crew.
Although Neeson, then 64, did not stay to dine, he posed for pictures before returning to his film set. Following the encounter, the shop introduced a new sandwich named "The Neeson," described as having "lots of beef, a one-two-punch of bacon and hickory sticks, and spice." They expressed hope that Neeson would return to try his namesake creation.
