Summary
- Liam Neeson rarely exceeds 58 mph on highways.
- He has little personal interest in cars or driving fast.
- Stunt drivers performed most of the high-speed action scenes.

Liam Neeson, known for his action roles, has revealed a surprising personal disconnect with automobiles. In a recent interview, the 74-year-old actor admitted he rarely drives faster than 58 miles per hour on the highway and has virtually no interest in cars, despite his character in the new thriller "The Mongoose" piloting a Ford Shelby Super Snake. He stated his own driving habits are quite subdued.
During the filming of "The Mongoose," Neeson confessed that his stunt double, Mark Vanselow, who also directed the film, and other skilled stunt drivers managed the majority of the high-speed driving. Neeson recalled performing some scenes inside a car that was being controlled by a driver on the roof, an experience he found nerve-wracking. He expressed complete trust in his stunt team, noting his 30-year working relationship with Vanselow, but acknowledged his personal discomfort with such intense driving sequences.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles has begun activating new speed cameras, which will issue fines ranging from $50 to $500 for drivers exceeding the speed limit by at least 11 mph. This initiative, implemented by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), follows a 60-day warning period.
