Leonard Kornberg, a distinguished figure in Hollywood known for his work on iconic films, passed away on January 3rd at the age of 75. His career, which began in the early 1980s as a story analyst, saw him hold significant production roles at Universal Pictures, including senior vice president of production.
Kornberg was instrumental in bringing numerous projects to the screen, with credits including "Paddington," "The Mummy," and "King Kong." In 2001, he was diagnosed with Adult Polyglucosan Body Disease (APBD), a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. Undeterred, he adapted his work, continuing as a story analyst and even serving as an uncredited producer.
Beyond his studio work, Kornberg shared his expertise by teaching script analysis at USC's Stark Producing Program. He held degrees from Hamilton College, Middlebury College, and San Francisco State University. He is survived by his wife, Kit Hellman, and other family members.
