Leland Orser is set to star in Apple TV+'s upcoming eight-episode spy thriller, 'Safe Houses'. Inspired by Dan Fesperman's novel, the series is executive produced by Gideon Raff, known for his work on 'Homeland'.
Jennifer Connelly and Ana de Armas are reportedly in final negotiations to join the cast as stars and executive producers. The show's plot unfolds in the aftermath of a CIA officer's murder in Madrid, following a fugitive agent and the victim's widow as they investigate the crime and a far-reaching conspiracy.
Orser is expected to portray Senator Douglas Patterson, the brother of Ambassador Elizabeth Winthrop. The series is a co-production between Wiip and Apple Studios, with Otto Bathurst directing the initial episodes. Raff will serve as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Alexandra Milchan, Paul Lee, and David Flynn.
This role adds to Orser's extensive television and film credits, including 'Berlin Station', 'Ray Donovan', and the 'Taken' film franchise, as well as acclaimed movies like 'Saving Private Ryan' and 'Amsterdam'.
