Legendary Singer Kumar Sanu Fights Defamation Charges from Former Spouse

In a recent development, renowned singer Kumar Sanu has reportedly taken legal action against his ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya. This comes after Rita made allegations against Sanu, accusing him of mistreating her and their children.

According to the reports, Rita claimed that Sanu "ran away" from home and deprived them of food and basic needs. However, Sanu has strongly denied these allegations. His lawyer, Sana Raees Khan, has now sent a legal notice to Rita, accusing her of making defamatory statements.

Defending Sanu's long and illustrious music career, the lawyer stated that the singer has "poured his soul into music, giving joy to millions and earning love and respect across the world" for over 40 years. The lawyer emphasized that they will firmly counter any attempts to defame the legendary artist, ensuring that "malicious attempts to defame him are met with the full force of the law to protect his dignity, legacy and family honour."

In her recent interviews, Rita Bhattacharya claimed that she was the one who supported Sanu during the early days of his career. She also blamed the singer's sister for creating problems in their marriage. However, Rita has not yet publicly responded to the legal notice sent by Sanu's team.

Kumar Sanu and Rita Bhattacharya were married in the 1980s, but their marriage ended in divorce in 1994. The former couple share three children together.
