Summary
- Little Feat to launch "The Last Farewell Tour" starting in April 2025
- Band formed over 50 years ago, with founding keyboardist Bill Payne still performing
- Tour to include global dates following initial run in southern United States

In a bittersweet announcement, the legendary roots-rock band Little Feat has revealed plans for their final tour. Titled "The Last Farewell Tour," the extensive run of shows is set to kick off in April 2025, with the initial leg covering the southern United States.
The band, which formed over 50 years ago, has confirmed that a global tour will follow the initial dates. The lineup for the farewell tour will feature founding keyboardist Bill Payne alongside guitarists Fred Tackett and Scott Sharrard, bassist Kenny Gradney, percussionist Sam Clayton, and drummer Tony Leone.
While the band has stated that this is not an "absolute, never-gonna-play again statement," they have acknowledged that the rigors of touring have become increasingly challenging. "Playing is the joy and satisfaction of touring, but it comes with the hard part -- travel, the endless miles on a bus," the band shared in a statement.
Little Feat's latest album, "Strike Up the Band," was released earlier this year, and the group has now shared a new song, "Feathers and a Smile," written by the band's late co-founder Lowell George and sung by his daughter, Inara George.
