Rock Legend Ace Frehley Dies at 72 After Tragic Home Accident

The music community is in a state of deep sorrow following the tragic passing of legendary Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley. Frehley, who was 72 years old, died on October 16th after suffering a fall at his home.

Frehley was a founding member of Kiss and played a crucial role in the band's formative years. In a joint statement, his former bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley expressed their devastation, calling Frehley an "essential and irreplaceable rock soldier" during Kiss's most pivotal chapters. They acknowledged that he will forever be a part of the band's enduring legacy.

Frehley was with Kiss from their earliest shows in 1973 until 1982, when he departed due to personal conflicts and substance abuse issues. He later rejoined the group in 1996 for their triumphant reunion tour, but left again in 2002 following the conclusion of the band's first farewell tour. Frehley's final appearance with Kiss was in 2018, when he played four songs with the current lineup during a Kiss Kruise event on Halloween.

Over the past two decades, Frehley had been extensively touring with his solo band, delighting audiences with a setlist heavily focused on classic Kiss tunes. His last concert took place on September 5th, 2025, at the Uptown Theater in Providence, Rhode Island. Tragically, Frehley was forced to cancel a subsequent show in California after suffering the fall at his home that ultimately led to his untimely demise.
