Thessaloniki Fetes Legendary Performer Isabelle Huppert with Retrospective

The Thessaloniki International Film Festival is set to pay tribute to legendary French actress Isabelle Huppert at its 66th edition. Huppert, who will be the festival's guest of honor, will attend a series of events, screenings, and talks.

On November 4th, Huppert will deliver a masterclass titled "From Screen to Stage," exploring the nuances between acting techniques for cinema and theater. The masterclass will be moderated by Greek writer Ersi Sotiropoulou.

In addition, the festival will host a guided tour of Thessaloniki's historical monuments and landmarks for Huppert, and "initiate her into the culinary secrets of the city," according to a statement.

Huppert, who has been nominated 16 times for a César Award, a record in the history of the awards, is a two-time César winner. She has also won best actress accolades at the Cannes, Venice, and Berlinale film festivals for her acclaimed performances in films like "Violette Nozière," "The Piano Teacher," and "8 Women."

Her most recent film, "The Richest Woman in the World," premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. In the political drama, Huppert delivers a commanding performance as a wealthy heiress whose extravagant gifts to a younger artist ignite public outrage.
