Legendary Duo Lynch and Deming Honored at Camerimage Film Festival

In a celebration of iconic cinematographer-director partnerships, the Camerimage Film Festival in Torun, Poland, has awarded the Duo Award to the legendary duo of David Lynch and Peter Deming. The award, which recognizes the collaborative efforts between filmmakers, was presented at the festival's opening on November 15, 2025.

Deming, who has worked extensively with Lynch over the years, was present to accept the honor on behalf of the late filmmaker. The two's creative partnership began with the short-lived TV project On the Air in 1992 and continued to flourish over the decades, with the duo collaborating on numerous acclaimed films, including Lost Highway (1997), Mulholland Drive (2001), and Twin Peaks: The Return (2017).

Deming has been vocal in his tributes to Lynch following the filmmaker's passing in January 2025, describing him as a "mentor, a collaborator, and a friend" whose "truly singular ability to combine images and sound" was unparalleled. The Camerimage festival is also honoring Lynch's legacy with a broad retrospective titled "The World of David Lynch," showcasing his diverse artistic practice across cinema, music videos, and more.
