In a major announcement, the Golden Globes organization has revealed that legendary actress and producer Dame Helen Mirren will be the recipient of the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award. The prestigious honor will be presented during the new annual primetime special, Golden Eve, which is set to air on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, on CBS and Paramount+.
The Golden Eve special will feature in-depth career retrospectives, never-before-seen footage, and conversations with Mirren and the recipient of the 2026 Carol Burnett Award, whose identity has yet to be disclosed. The event is part of the Golden Globes' "Golden Week," a weeklong celebration across Paramount platforms leading up to the 83rd annual Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026.
"Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her career is nothing short of extraordinary," said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. "Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike."
Mirren's accolades are indeed impressive, including three Golden Globes, an Academy Award, five Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, and numerous other prestigious honors. She will become the first British recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award since Anthony Hopkins in 2006.
