The Monsterverse is expanding with a new series centered on Lee Shaw, portrayed by Wyatt Russell. This spinoff, reportedly set in 1984, will see Shaw embarking on a top-secret mission during the Cold War. His objective is to prevent the Soviet Union from unleashing a Titan that could determine the war's outcome.
Wyatt Russell expressed significant excitement for the project, describing its genre as entirely separate from "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters." He anticipates that viewers will find the new series unexpectedly different and "wild" in the best way possible.
Both Wyatt and Kurt Russell will reprise their roles as Lee Shaw in "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" season two. Their continued involvement was confirmed in November 2025, following a period of reevaluation after the first season's conclusion in January 2024.
The new Lee Shaw series is slated for production in the summer of 2026. The showrunner and writer, Joby Harold, is reportedly leading the creative team, with expectations for a fresh wave of Monsterverse storytelling focusing on human characters amidst monstrous threats.
