Filmmakers Dean and Rebecca Sills are actively seeking public contributions for their upcoming documentary, "Laurel and Hardy: To Hull and Back." This project aims to capture personal anecdotes and connections related to the famed comedy duo's historical visits to the Humber region. The duo previously visited Hull in 1947 and 1953, and also performed in Grimsby and Cleethorpes in 1954. Their previous film, "Laurel and Hardy's Yorkshire Adventures," released in 2025, achieved significant success. Building on this, the filmmakers are now focusing on Hull and Grimsby due to fan requests and the region's relevance to the comedians' tours. They are particularly interested in interviewing anyone with family ties to past audiences, theatre staff, or personal encounters with Laurel and Hardy. Already, ten individuals have shared their stories, but the filmmakers encourage more people to share their unique memories for the documentary.
