Laura Marling's Unexpected Raffi Cover Album

Laura Marling, the acclaimed British singer-songwriter, has unveiled a new album, "Laura Sings Raffi." This collection features 17 cover songs from the beloved children's entertainer Raffi. Marling described the album as a "logical next step" in her artistic journey.

The inspiration for the album reportedly stems from Marling's time living in North America, where she developed an appreciation for Raffi's "sincere, dead pan renditions." This fondness emerged even before she had children of her own. She also noted that some tracks include songs Raffi performed but did not originally write.

Marling took on the production duties for "Laura Sings Raffi" herself, recording the entire album within her home in London. The project is presented as a tribute to Raffi's performance style and core philosophy, emphasizing respect for children and a witty, kind approach that avoids condescension.
