Latitude Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary this July at Henham Park in Suffolk. As part of the festivities, choirmaster Gareth Malone OBE will assemble a choir of 100 ticket-holders. This group will perform 20 songs spanning the festival's two-decade history, offering a unique participatory experience for attendees.
Festival-goers interested in joining the choir can apply online. The performance is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, on the main Obelisk stage. Malone has curated a setlist featuring influential artists like Pet Shop Boys, Blondie, Florence and the Machine, The Killers, Mumford and Sons, and an Ed Sheeran track, ensuring crowd singalongs.
Melvin Benn, the festival's founder, expressed pride in reaching the 20-year milestone, highlighting the difficulty of maintaining a festival's relevance. He described nurturing the event as akin to raising children. The festival also announced local artists for the Faber Alt x BBC Introducing Stage, including Native James and i.am.afiya.
