Goodman Joins The Last of Us for Season 3!

Production is underway for the highly anticipated third season of The Last of Us, with significant casting news emerging. Actor John Goodman has officially joined the series, taking on the role of Joey, a character who identifies as one of the "Heroes of the Highway."

Further bolstering the cast are franchise veterans Ian Alexander and Laura Bailey. Alexander, who originated the role of Lev in The Last of Us: Part II video game, will play a character named Paco. Laura Bailey, the voice of Abby Anderson in the game, is set to portray Elizabeth, a leader within the Seraphite religious group.

These casting choices highlight a trend of incorporating actors from the original game series into new roles on the show. The upcoming season is expected to shift focus to Kaitlyn Dever's Abby, following her journey leading up to her encounter with Ellie and Joel. Showrunner Craig Mazin has described the season as "powerful."

Fans can anticipate the premiere of The Last of Us Season 3 sometime in 2027. The first two seasons are currently available for streaming.
