Larry David's new comedy series, "Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America," is slated for release on June 27. The seven-episode sketch show aims to satirize the United States as it approaches its 250th anniversary.
Helmed by director Jeff Schaffer, known for his work on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Seinfeld," the series will feature approximately four sketches per episode. The cast includes a mix of familiar "Curb" actors, with Susie Essman notably portraying Susan B. Anthony.
Exciting guest appearances have been announced, with Bill Hader and Kathryn Hahn set to embody Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. Jon Hamm and Sean Hayes will play the Wright brothers. Adding to the star power, Barack Obama himself will feature in a sketch opposite David, with his Higher Ground production company also involved.
True to the style of "Curb Your Enthusiasm," the show embraces improvisation. Each sketch will operate from an outline, allowing for spontaneous dialogue that promises a unique comedic experience.
