Summary
- Actor recalled warning Michael Landon about Mork & Mindy's potential.
- Landon predicted Little House would endure longer than Mork & Mindy.
- Mork & Mindy was a breakout role for Robin Williams.
Actor Patrick Labyorteaux shared a past anecdote about a conversation with the late Michael Landon, star and creative force behind Little House on the Prairie. During a filming break, Labyorteaux expressed concern to Landon about a new show he found compelling, suggesting it might impact their viewership. He identified this show as Mork & Mindy, a sitcom that debuted in 1978.
Landon, however, was notably calm about the potential competition from the Mork & Mindy series. The show, which featured an alien from the planet Ork studying Earth customs, was a spin-off from Happy Days. It also served as a significant breakout role for actor Robin Williams.
Despite Labyorteaux's enthusiasm for Mork & Mindy, Landon offered a confident prediction to the actor. He asserted that Little House on the Prairie would be watched for decades to come, while Mork & Mindy would eventually fade from public memory. Little House on the Prairie originally premiered in 1974 and depicted the lives of settlers in the American Midwest during the late 1800s.
