Summary
- Landman renewed for second season, premiering in November 2025
- CEO Monty Miller dies unexpectedly, leaving his company to Tommy Norris
- Thornton's character faces mounting pressure as new CEO of M-Tex Oil

The gritty Paramount+ drama Landman is set to return for its second season on November 16, 2025, with new episodes airing weekly until the series finale on January 18, 2026. The show, created by Taylor Sheridan, follows the struggles of Tommy Norris (played by Billy Bob Thornton) as he navigates the challenges of working as a landman for an independent oil rig in West Texas.
In the show's first season, which premiered in November 2024, Norris had to battle constant lawsuits, hazardous working conditions, and family drama. The season 1 finale saw a major shift in Norris' career when M-Tex Oil CEO Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) unexpectedly died after a failed heart transplant surgery. Despite the hopes of Miller's wife, Cami (Demi Moore), for his recovery, the CEO passed away, leaving his company in the hands of Norris.
As Landman heads into its second season, Thornton's character will be facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller, and the shadow of his own kin. "Survival in West Texas isn't noble - it's brutal," the official logline reads, "and sooner or later something's got to break." Thornton has teased that his character will struggle with the new responsibilities of being a CEO, especially having to work for Cami, who doesn't have much experience in the oil business.
The second season of Landman will also see the return of several key cast members, including Andy Garcia as cartel boss Galino, who saved Norris after he was kidnapped and tortured. Thornton has expressed his hope to explore the "weird position" his character is in with Garcia's, as he now has to navigate a "chess match" with a smart, equally capable adversary.
