"Lagaan" commenced its run with Rs. 43,724 nett on Friday, showing a 19.93% occupancy. Positive word-of-mouth and nostalgic sentiment fueled substantial growth over the weekend. Saturday saw collections rise to Rs. 1,33,110 nett with 51.45% occupancy, followed by Sunday, which proved to be the strongest day with Rs. 2,20,980 nett and an excellent 70.42% occupancy.
As anticipated, Monday's figures saw a dip, with the film earning Rs. 50,107 nett and a 20.09% occupancy. This brought the cumulative total for the first four days to Rs. 4.47 lakh nett.
Notably, Mumbai has proven to be the most significant market for the film's comeback, accounting for Rs. 1.52 lakh nett of the total earnings. This demonstrates the enduring appeal of Ashutosh Gowariker's directorial, with audiences showing up despite limited screenings.
