The city of Los Angeles will host its first-ever Los Angeles Jazz Festival (LAJF) in 2026. Spanning 25 days, the festival has secured Airbnb as its title sponsor. The event aims to celebrate jazz as America's classical music while fostering economic growth and social justice within the community.
The LAJF will include six major components, kicking off with 'Jazz on the Beach' on Dockweiler Beach. Other segments include a Caribbean Street Festival in El Segundo, free 'Jazz in the Park' concerts across all 15 L.A. council districts, and 'Jazz After Dark' events in various local venues. Additionally, there will be Coastal Cultural Tours highlighting Black cultural landmarks and a State of Jazz Conference.
Mayor Karen Bass expressed excitement for the festival, emphasizing its role in uniting Los Angeles through community celebration and cultural storytelling rooted in the African diaspora. Organizers are projecting 250,000 attendees and have committed to making the LAJF one of the 'greenest' mega-festivals globally by eliminating fossil fuels and utilizing green technologies throughout the event.
