The 60th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, set to run from July 3 to July 11, will present its highest honor, the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema, to acclaimed actors Dustin Hoffman and Juliette Binoche. Both artists will receive their awards during the festival's opening and closing ceremonies, respectively.
In addition to Hoffman and Binoche, the festival will recognize other significant figures in filmmaking. Cinematographer Robert Richardson, known for his work on films like "Platoon" and "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood," will also receive a Crystal Globe. Actor Jeffrey Wright will be honored with the President's Award.
The festival will feature screenings of key works from the honorees, including Hoffman's "The Graduate" and Binoche's "Certified Copy." Special presentations will include a screening of Martin Scorsese's "Mean Streets" with guest Harvey Keitel, and a horror-comedy "Family Movie" presented by the Bacon-Sedgwick family.
Opening night will showcase the documentary "The Match," focusing on a 1986 World Cup game, followed by a musical performance. The closing night film is Noah Segan's "The Only Living Pickpocket in New York."
