The KVIFF industry strand has unveiled selections for its Central Stage showcase and the new Book-to-Screen initiative. Central Stage will feature 11 films from emerging and established directors across the region, seeking opportunities for co-production, financing, sales, distribution, and festival premieres. These films will be presented on July 6 and benefit from post-production partnerships and eligibility for the €20,000 Eurimages Co-Production Development Award.
The inaugural Book-to-Screen at KVIFF, a collaboration with Frankfurt Book Fair and others, spotlights eight books from Central and Eastern Europe with screen potential. This initiative, launching on July 7, aims to address the underrepresentation of IP development in the region and create a transparent market for adaptation rights. KVIFF's long-term ambition is to become a key Central-Eastern European IP market.
