Stephen Chow's highly anticipated film, "Kung Fu Soccer," is scheduled for release in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland on October 23. Encore Films will distribute the movie in its original language and an English-dubbed version, featuring voice talents from Jimmy O. Yang, MC Jin, and Chow himself.
The film has already garnered substantial success across Asia and Oceania. It topped the box office in mainland China upon its July 11 release, earning $349 million during the summer season. Subsequently, it expanded its reach to Southeast Asian markets throughout August.
"Kung Fu Soccer" centers on the Emei Women's Football Team, portrayed as underdogs who masterfully integrate martial arts techniques with their football prowess. This narrative echoes Chow's previous successes in sports-meets-kung-fu genres, notably "Shaolin Soccer" and "Kung Fu Hustle."
