Kristin Davis and Tig Notaro are set to star in "Beach Read," an upcoming film adaptation of Emily Henry's popular novel. This adaptation from 20th Century Studios is scheduled to begin filming this month. Character details for Davis and Notaro have not yet been revealed.
The film's ensemble cast also features Phoebe Dynevor and Patrick Schwarzenegger in leading roles, alongside previously announced actors Andie MacDowell and Kevin Bacon. The story centers on January Andrews, an idealistic romance novelist, and Augustus Everett, a cynical literary fiction writer, who find themselves neighbors for a summer and challenge each other to write in the opposite genre.
Directed by Yulin Kuang, who previously co-wrote "People We Meet on Vacation," another Henry adaptation, the movie is based on Kuang's own screenplay. Neal H. Moritz is producing the feature. "Beach Read" is slated for an exclusive theatrical release on May 7, 2027. Davis is renowned for her role as Charlotte York in "Sex and the City," while Notaro is an Emmy-nominated actor and comedian.
