In a recent interview, actress Kristin Chenoweth reflects on the backlash she faced for her tribute to conservative commentator Charlie Kirk following his death in September. Chenoweth, 57, says the experience "was tough" on her and "nearly broke" her, though she declines to elaborate further, stating, "That's all I'm going to say."
Kirk, who was 31 years old, died after being shot during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. Chenoweth had reacted to the news on social media, writing that she was "upset" and that while she didn't always agree with Kirk, she "appreciated some perspectives." However, her comment drew criticism, particularly from members of the LGBTQ+ community, as Kirk was known for his anti-LGBTQ+ stances.
