The gang-themed comedy, which centers on a power struggle within a gangster organization, has been acquired by distributors across Asia and beyond.
The film has been snapped up by Abnormal Studios for Cambodia, Star Entertainment for the Indian subcontinent, and Clover Films for Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. It has also found buyers in Japan, Mongolia, and Vietnam. In North America, 213 Pictures & Media picked up the rights, while Cai Chang International secured the Taiwan distribution.
To boost the film's international profile, director Ra Hee-chan made the rounds at the Hawaii International Film Festival, engaging directly with audiences. "Boss" has already rolled out theatrically in North America and Mongolia, with upcoming releases scheduled in Indonesia on November 5 and Taiwan on November 21.
