Senior artist Subhaprasanna expressed optimism, stating the centre will be another haven for creative minds and aspiring artists in the city. The opening coincided with the commencement of the 3rd Print Biennale India 2026.
This month-long event, running until February 15, has transformed the new centre into a global printmaking hub. It features 1,449 entries from 204 artists across 34 countries, exhibiting a wide array of printmaking techniques from woodcuts to experimental forms.
Pandit Tejendra Majumdar hailed the new building and the Print Biennale as a significant enhancement to Kolkata's art and cultural landscape, offering a valuable opportunity for engagement and appreciation.
