Summary
- Season 2 of the Game of Thrones spinoff is filming in Ireland.
- The series focuses on the "small folk" and their struggles.
- HBO has confirmed a second season is moving forward.

Filming for the second season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is currently underway in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with a planned premiere in 2027. This latest prequel in the Game of Thrones franchise delves into the adventures of Dunk, an orphaned squire aspiring to knighthood, and his squire, Egg. These stories are based on novellas by George R.R. Martin.
Executive producer Ryan Condal described the series as a contrast to the main narrative, highlighting its focus on the "small folk" who suffer from the machinations of the nobility. The first season earned critical praise, and Martin expressed his admiration for the actors portraying Dunk and Egg.
HBO confirmed a second season in November 2025. Season 2 will adapt "The Sworn Sword," the second novella in the saga. Future seasons are planned to adapt "The Mystery Knight," the third novella, as showrunner Ira Parker sees potential for many more stories.
While Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell are confirmed to return as Dunk and Egg, no other casting for season 2 has been officially announced. Recent speculation about Henry Cavill joining the cast was clarified as a misunderstanding.
