Summary
- Prince Aegon 'Egg' Targaryen becomes Ser Duncan the Tall's squire.
- A new scene shows Prince Maekar reacting to Egg's departure.
- Season 2 will adapt 'The Sworn Sword' novella.

The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has wrapped, introducing a significant book-to-screen addition. Prince Aegon "Egg" Targaryen, portrayed by Dexter Sol Ansell, officially becomes Ser Duncan the Tall's squire, embarking on cross-country adventures through Westeros. A scene newly added for the series depicts a frantic Prince Maekar, Egg's father and the new heir to the Iron Throne, realizing his son has left with Dunk against his wishes.
Showrunner Ira Parker stated that while the novellas are generally compartmentalized, this serves as a minor thread. Season 1 adapted "The Hedge Knight," and the currently-in-production Season 2 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, will adapt "The Sworn Sword." Future seasons aim to cover "The Mystery Knight" and additional unpublished stories, with Parker having pitched a potential series ending to George R. R. Martin.
Parker has also subtly hinted at future storylines, noting fan observations of a fortune teller at the Ashford tourney who delivered a prophecy about Egg. The showrunner indicated close attention was paid to visual details, leaving room for interpretation and future discussion regarding intentions and potential plot developments, though he acknowledged the possibility of the series concluding after Season 2.
