Actress Kirti Kulhari makes her producing debut with the film 'Kinaare,' which will also premiere at DIFF. Written and directed by Akbar and Azam Quadri, 'Kinaare' stars Kulhari as Amina, a woman whose life is altered by the unexpected return of her cousin, bringing past family conflicts to the surface. The film aims to deliver a subtle and heartwarming narrative about confronting and making peace with past events. The festival lineup includes diverse films such as Don Palathara's 'The Uncertainty Principle' and a documentary co-directed by Shilpi Gulati and ten women from Mumbai's suburbs. Other featured films span various genres and origins, including Kolkata-set drama 'Shadowbox,' Polish-Hungarian 'Budapest Diaries,' and Western Sahara-set 'Nomad Shadow.' Additional selections include Indian co-productions and films from Thailand, Iceland, and Ireland, alongside shorts like Shaunak Sen's 'Termite.' DIFF, founded by Ritu Sarin and Tenzing Sonam, will also host its fellowship program, mentoring emerging filmmakers.
