King of Meat's Reign Ends Abruptly
24 Feb
Summary
- Game service ends April 9, less than a year after debut.
- Peaked at 320 concurrent players, falling short of 100,000 goal.
- Refunds available for all King of Meat purchases.

The game King of Meat, published by Amazon Games, is set to end service on April 9, 2026. This shutdown comes less than a year after its initial release in October 2025.
Developer Glowmade stated that the game "has unfortunately not found the audience we hoped for." The title struggled significantly, peaking at only 320 concurrent players, a stark contrast to its goal of 100,000. A substantial marketing campaign, reportedly costing millions, included efforts like a video on MrBeast's YouTube channel and custom-wrapped London buses.
Following the game's underperformance, Glowmade implemented voluntary redundancies in December. Players who bought King of Meat are eligible for refunds, which should be processed automatically by April 9.
This closure adds to Amazon Games' history of discontinuing titles, even those with active player bases. The company previously announced it would wind down support for New World: Aeternum, despite its significant concurrent player numbers on Steam.
