King Charles Celebrates 77th Birthday with Welsh Cultural Showcase

On November 14, 2025, King Charles is celebrating his 77th birthday with a visit to his beloved Wales. The monarch will be hosted at a reception in the historic Cyfarthfa Castle near Merthyr Tydfil, which is also marking its 200th anniversary this year.

The guest list for the event includes a diverse array of Welsh stars, from actress Ruth Jones of "Gavin and Stacey" fame to fashion designer Julien Macdonald and TikTok creator Lewis Leigh. Representatives from the King's patronages, such as The King's Trust and the Royal Osteoporosis Society, as well as local businesses, will also attend the community reception.

This birthday celebration comes after a year filled with both personal and public challenges for the King. He was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in early 2024 and continues to undergo regular treatment. Charles has also faced the ongoing scandal surrounding his disgraced brother, the former Duke of York, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
