Kim Gordon's New Album Takes Aim at Politicians

Kim Gordon is releasing her third solo album, 'Play Me,' on March 13. This new collection of songs continues her tradition of social commentary, directly addressing politicians and the billionaire class. Gordon’s lead single, "Not Today," marks a notable return to her singing voice, which she hadn't utilized extensively in years.

The accompanying music video for "Not Today" was a creative collaboration with Rodarte founders Kate and Laura Mulleavy. They utilized a custom tulle dress they designed for Gordon previously, enhancing her distinctive style in the visuals. The video captures Gordon engaging in various activities, reflecting a newfound creative freedom.

Working with producer Justin Raisen, Gordon aimed for a concise and high-energy album. She described the process as fast and focused, resulting in a more confident and rhythmically driven record. 'Play Me' follows her 2024 album, 'The Collective,' and features Dave Grohl on drums for the track 'Busy Bee.'
