He admitted the performance was prerecorded and that he had informed the producers about noticeable syncing problems in the initial edits.

Rock further criticized what he termed "fake news media" and "left wingers" for accusing him of lip-syncing. The "All-American Halftime Show" was presented as an alternative to the official Super Bowl halftime show headlined by Bad Bunny, which had drawn criticism from some conservatives. While Rock acknowledged Bad Bunny's performance was not to his taste, he expressed disapproval of the NFL's decision to feature him.
