She described Parton as "immortal" and "a once-in-a-lifetime soul" whose existence felt "almost impossible."

Kardashian posted a video message from Parton that was sent for her birthday celebration. In the message, Parton humorously apologized for not attending the party and noted that Kardashian had purchased "all my damn cake mixes." Kardashian expressed that having met Parton and been recognized by her meant more than words could convey, calling her an "astronomical human being."

The two had a connection, with Parton appearing on Kardashian's podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, in 2025. During that appearance, Parton discussed her 61-year marriage to Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025. Parton attributed their long marriage to compatibility and a lack of conflict over possessions.

Just four days before her death at age 80, Parton had spoken to PEOPLE about dealing with health issues. She expressed her determination to continue working and achieve her dreams, stating she would "keep on working as long as I can to see everything come to life."
