KGF composer Ravi Basrur, known for his work on the hit film series, has shared a deeply personal story of his past struggles. By the age of 18, Basrur confessed to attempting suicide on two separate occasions. He expressed that he no longer wished to continue living the life he had at that time.

Fortunately, both attempts were unsuccessful. Basrur detailed how a pivotal individual saved him during his second attempt. This person not only supported him emotionally but also purchased a keyboard for him and provided Rs 35,000, significantly aiding his musical aspirations. In gratitude, Basrur adopted the name Ravi, honoring his life-saving benefactor.

Basrur made these revelations at the teaser launch event for the Telugu film 'Cult', where he was honored for his musical contributions. Actor-director Vishwak Sen presented Basrur with a Rolex watch as a token of appreciation, an act that visibly moved the composer. Basrur expressed his profound gratitude, viewing the honor as recognition of his dedication and soul, not just a timepiece.
